Senate E Verify Renewal Bill Mirrors House Version A Senate bill to renew the E Verify program for five years, the Visa Efficiency and E Verify Extension Act (S 3414) introduced by Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., mirrors a bill approved by the House on July 31, 2008, that also extends E Verify five years, but the Senate bill would also reprocess unused employment based immigrant visas issued since 1992.

The Russian government has streamlined its employment and work permit application process for foreign workers, but the new regulations also increase scrutiny of those applications and of the permit holders.

Employer guidelines for sponsoring foreign workers, who are non European Economic Area nationals, under the different "tiers" of a new "Points Based System" have been issued by the United Kingdom's Border Agency.
