The Mobile Society for Human Resource Management presents the 2008 Gulf Coast Human Resource Conference on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center, with a pre-conference reception and silent auction fundraiser for the SHRM Foundation scheduled the evening before at the Bienville Club.

Overview:

The professional chapter of the Mobile Society for Human Resource Management has committed a total of  $2,000.00 for 2008. Two - $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded.

Scholarship Criteria:

Eligibility for consideration:

• 3.0 G.P.A. or greater in the Human Resource Management Concentration
• An overall 3.0 G.P.A. or higher

Ready to earn your PHR/SPHR certification? Make plans to sign up for Mobile SHRM’s fall 2008 certification preparation course!  Mobile SHRM is sponsoring an exam training preparation course for the PHR & SPHR exams. Classes begin on Monday, September 8 and will meet from 5:30 – 8:30 pm each Monday for 13 weeks.

HR Student Scholarship

The Human Resource Management Student Scholarship program is open to local college juniors and seniors majoring in human resources who hold active memberships in both the national Society for Human Resource Management and the local student SHRM chapter. Sons and Daughters Scholarship

The Sons and Daughters Scholarship program is open to children of Mobile SHRM chapter members enrolled in their first or second year of undergraduate study, regardless of major. Click here for program details and an application form.

 
The Program

MobileSHRM has established a scholarship program to help finance higher education for children of its members. The award is given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility

Applicants must be children of members of MobileSHRM. Applicants may be either high school seniors, high school graduates or first-year college undergraduates enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university.

To be considered for membership in Mobile SHRM, you may complete your application online and upload an up-to-date resume. If you do not have a current resume, you must provide a position description for your current job and a brief outline of your experiences within the Human Resource profession.
