ThyssenKrupp Steel USA is currently seeking a Lead Learning and Development Specialist for our Human Resources team at our developing site operations in Calvert, Alabama. 
Our Lead Learning and Development Specialist will:
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate and improve on-the-job learning process
  • Align Learning and Development strategies and systems with operations and maintenance workforce development and performance needs
  • Partner with line management to effectively create and maintain a formal training process that continuously adds value to Team Member capabilities
  • Implement a Learning/Competency/Content Management System in alignment with a highly integrated Knowledge Management System
  • Coach and Train operations and maintenance trainers/coaches
  • Support continuous improvement process and Environmental, Health and Safety with training design, facilitation and implementation
Job Requirements
Our Lead Learning & Development Specialist will have or demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's degree Business, Industrial Technology or a related field
  • Minimum 8-10 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years in training and development role, preferable as part of OJL process
  • Strong industry knowledge of training practices
  • Strong training material and job-aid design and development skills and delivery methods
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with coordinating and managing training programs
  • Leadership, coaching and team building skills
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas and concepts
 
  • Superior computer skills, including MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Comfortable working with database systems, process flow-charting and online training systems
  • Steel or heavy manufacturing experience in the training function
  • Performance consulting and human performance technology knowledge
  • Computer-Based ISD experience
  • Interest and ability to work at our mill operations in Calvert, Alabama
