UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent, three years clerical experience, one of which must have been in a human resources function, and the ability to type 35 correct words per minute. Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Answers phones and directs calls; greets and assists applicants in the application process; enters application flow information into applicant database utilizing a PC; determines appropriate job category for each applicant; prepares letters, memos, purchase orders, direct pay requests, reports, and other documents for the department using a personal computer; prepares special reports utilizing SCT Banner as requested; enters new employee information in the SCT Banner System; maintains demographic information on existing employees in the SCT Banner System; follows appropriate Banner data standards in entering accurate information; receives and logs garnishments and subpoenas, processes, and forwards to appropriate departments; prepares and distributes employee mail-outs; runs computer lists of applicants for vacant positions as requested by employment specialist; scans applications and faxes to other Hospital HR offices; makes ID badges for employees using a computerized badge making system; maintains HR picture database; assists new and current employees with completing paperwork for HR, Payroll, and benefit records; processes employment verifications; assists new employees with completing I-9 forms; logs tuition reimbursement forms, incident reports, and processes legal paperwork; maintains office files; prepares and maintains adequate supply of employment applications; maintains active and terminated files for all employees; maintains employee JCAHO files; prepares orientation packets for new employees; scans, copies and faxes information as needed; collects and logs evaluation forms; provides backup to other office staff in their absences to include maintaining databases and processing various forms; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required,
