President's Desk

We’ve moved into Q2 and the momentum for 2013 doesn’t seem to be slowing down. What goals have you set for yourself?  More importantly, what steps have you taken to encourage goal-setting within your organization?  Yes, I know, goals and competencies are the core of annual performance reviews. But sometimes, they become more of a formality rather than the roadmap to reality.

In every form of transportation, there is a method of navigation to get us from point A to point B.  Too often in life, the method of navigation is trial-and-error, or mere hope that things will go as planned. Aren’t you glad that the airlines, cruise ships, or trains don’t rely on this method when transporting us to our destinations?  We must have a plan, and a process; a concise strategy to approach and achieve desired goals.

If you haven’t done so already, take the time to work with your teams to set goals for 2013.  Success doesn’t just happen…we have to plan for it.  Go get’em!

2013 Meeting Sponsorships!

Would you like to have an opportunity to market your company’s products or services to a captive audience of HR professionals? Sponsor a Mobile Society for Human Resource Management chapter meeting and you’ll have an exclusive opportunity to do just that! For only $400, sponsors may have an exhibit near the check-in table, place literature on each table, and have an opportunity to speak briefly about their companies during the meeting agenda. What could be better than that?

Limited opportunities are available, as there can be only one sponsor for each regular meeting. Contact Carol Statter at pres-elect@mshrm.org to reserve your month!
