From The President's Desk

Thank you to all who attended our annual Gulf Coast Human Resource Conference.  We had great speakers who made it difficult to choose what concurrent session to attend.  We were also excited to host students from several college chapters across the state. The student state conference was held the following day at the University of South Alabama.  The event was educational but very entertaining as students competed in the first Alabama State HR games.  Several of our chapter members assisted with the games and, speaking for myself, I was glad we were provided the answers to the questions!  I have no doubt these students are going to be an asset to our profession.

I also want to thank those of you who took the time to complete our member survey.  Your responses will help your board plan future events for our members.  We also have a class at South utilizing those responses to assist in a class project that will result in recommendations to grow our membership.  The presentation will be made on the evening  of December 1st.  If you are interested in attending, please contact me at for more details.

And finally, a thank you to those of you who have attended the monthly meetings.  We hope you are enjoying our new venue at the Marriott.  We look forward to seeing you on December 11th.
Happy Holidays!
