Governmental Affairs

The IRS has published forms and instructions to help you prepare for annual reporting required under the ACA. Below are a couple of key dates:

Notice to employees. For furnishing employees with the 2017 Form 1095-B (Health Coverage) and Form 1095-C (Employer Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage), the deadline is January 31, 2018.  

Filing with the IRS. For filing with the IRS the 2017 Form 1094-B (Transmittal of Health Coverage Information Returns), Form 1095-B, Form 1094-C (Transmittal of Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage Information Returns) and Form 1095-C, the deadline is February 28, 2018, if not filing electronically, and April 2, 2018, if filing electronically. Any employer filing 250 or more forms must do so electronically.

SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification

Mobile SHRM will offer a SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preparation class in conjunction with MTI Business Solutions starting in January of 2018. The cost is $945, which includes the class and SHRM Learning System.

Classes meet on 12 Monday evenings between January and June. Registration is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to 15 participants. See for specific dates and other details. Registration is open here.
