Coming to the Conference? Be sure to bring your wallet and shop
at our fabulous Silent Auction! We have tables full of great
items such as condo weekends, jewelry, restaurant gifts cards, unique
gift items and more. Whether treating yourself or thinking
of someone special, we have something for you. And remember,
November is not too early to start your holiday shopping. How
many days until Christmas??
Welcome Reception – Networking Event
The Welcome Reception (sponsored by Nationwide Retirement Solutions)
is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
at the Hampton Inn – Downtown (on Royal Street).
The reception will be catered by Chef Rob and Atlanta Bread Company.
A cash bar will be available. The reception is free to attend; however
$10 per person donation to the SHRM Foundation is requested. Also,
the silent auction benefiting the SHRM Foundation will begin at The
Welcome Reception and continue until the end of the actual conference.
RSVP is required for the Welcome Reception and should be made by
email to conferencecochair@mobileshrm.org.

Is there a local charitable organization that you’d really like to
recognize? Please consider nominating a deserving organization to receive
the chapter’s annual December financial donation made in support of
work of a local charity. The only way an organization can be considered
is to be nominated by a member of the Mobile chapter.
If you’d like to nominate a local nonprofit organization to receive this year’s
gift, please do! Simply email your nominations to president@mobileshrm.org by
November 1 with the phrase “charity nomination” in the email subject line. The
nominated charities will be compiled onto a ballot and voting will take place
at the conference.
And, speaking of the conference – time is running out to register. November 18
is the big day, so final plans are being made right now. Ensure that there’s
room for you by visiting the MSHRM website http://mobileshrm.org/content/2011-gulf-coast-mobile-shrm-conference and
register today. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the kickoff reception
the evening before as well as the conference itself.
Thanks so much for your chapter membership, as well as your support of and participation
in events like the chapter meetings, charitable nomination, conference and welcome
reception.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference activities this month!
Regards,
Mary White, Chapter President |
