SARPC Job Fair Set for April 19

The South Alabama Regional Planning Commission’s 14th Annual Business Expo/Jobs Fair will take place at the Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall on Thursday, April 19, 2012.
    
The Annual Business Expo/Jobs Fair promotes the economy of our region by providing a venue to facilitate interaction between those seeking employment and for companies seeking employees. The event also provides companies an opportunity to network with community leaders while marketing products and services. The Business Expo/Jobs Fair is an excellent outlet to showcase what our region has to offer.
    
Employers seeking workers will have the opportunity to meet with hundreds of applicants. Those seeking jobs can apply for the available positions and learn about training opportunities. Last year’s event drew over eighty companies and over 3,500 job seekers from six states.

2012 SPHR-PHR Certification Class

The Mobile Society for Human Resource Management (MSHRM) is sponsoring an exam training preparation course for the Human Resource Certification Institute's PHR and SPHR certification exams.

Classes begin on Monday, January 23, 2012 and will meet on 13 Monday evenings from 5:30 – 8:45 p.m. The final class meeting will be May 7, with no classes the weeks of February 20 (Mardi Gras), March 26 (Baldwin County Public Schools Spring Break), or April 16 (Mobile County Public Schools Spring Break).

The course fee is $895 which includes the complete 2012 SHRM Learning System and professional instruction in a classroom setting. Note that the HRCI body of knowledge is changing for 2012, so older editions of the learning system cannot be used. An additional six percent processing fee will apply for Visa or MasterCard payments. Seating is limited and pre-registration (including payment) is required by January 13, 2012.

Pensacola SHRM Legal Conference

The Greater Pensacola Chapter of SHRM would like to invite members of the Mobile Chapter to the annual Legal Conference on May 12, 2010, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. The conference will be held at New World Landing in Pensacola and has a great line up of speakers planned. This is also an opportunity to network with other HR professionals and earn HRCI credits.
