Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, Ala. Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.

AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.

AM/NS Calvert is seeking an experienced HRIS Analyst to support our developing processing operations in Calvert, Alabama.

Our Analyst, HRIS will: 

Provide support for existing HR technology including SAP HRIS; recommend and assist with implementing improvements to HR technologies along with associated business processes and systems design and documentation

Lead the team in the sourcing, development and implementation of new HR technology for the HR department, including design and documentation of HR business processes and systems; in partnership with the IT department

Drive continuous improvement of HR process execution to be efficient, effective and timely; identify new KPIs and monitor existing KPIs to ensure the design, development and implementation of HR process and technology improvement initiatives will achieve desired business results

Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external vendors of HR technology; actively network and participate in benchmarking and best practice development. Provide subject matter expertise and develop recommendations for continuous improvement and alignment



Provides centralized data analysis and reporting support for all HR processes. Provides standard and ad hoc queries / reports to meet HR customer and process needs. Recommends improvements to data and reporting systems; automating if possible

Develops and maintains SAP and SuccessFactors “best practice” knowledge and provide technical support for HR business systems within scope of work

Assists in outlining project details in support of the HR Business Plan regarding HR technology, business systems and/or processes.  Engages process owners to ensure goals are set, measures are in place and strategies are identified

Leads cross-functional teams of small-to-medium scope initiatives to develop and implement new HR business processes / systems; seek to implement enhancements / improvements to existing business processes / systems

Provides technical expertise to cross-functional team members and others in HR; strive to improve individual capabilities of team members / peers through mentoring and coaching

Supports the continuous evaluation and improvement of HR business systems and processes

Assists in the prioritization and implementation of improvement work efforts / opportunities

Assists in identifying and developing auditing and reporting mechanisms to ensure company meets all HR internal and external compliance and reporting requirements

Manages and/or participates in projects as required by leadership

Provides process and technical support to HR processes through excellence in process, information and technology management practices and expertise

Ensures HR Technology is aligned with business processes and customer needs; investigate, assess and implement technologies to provide cost effective and efficient delivery of HR products and services

Ensures employee / organizational data is captured, managed, analyzed and disseminated to enable decision making



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management Information Systems, or other relevant subject plus 5 years of progressively responsible HRIS experience

Prefer experience with SAP including SuccessFactors.



Working knowledge in applicable HR processes is required

Knowledge and demonstrated experience with SAP and SuccessFactors is preferred

Working knowledge of the relationships between all HR processes and other business units/departments is required

Advanced knowledge and understanding of Human Resources strategy which includes HR Information Systems, HR tools, technologies, processes, and systems is required

General knowledge of organizational systems framework

Business report writing, documentation, presentation and consulting skills to sufficiently convey information clearly both internally and externally, verbally and written

Advanced data analysis skills are required

Interest and ability to work at our site operations in Calvert, Alabama (near Mobile, and the glorious Gulf Coast!)
